Your contribution funds professional craft, materials, and berthing—every dollar goes directly to the work.
Yankee is a 1906 William Frank Stone schooner—one of the oldest actively maintained wooden yachts on San Francisco Bay. After decades of careful stewardship by previous owners, she is now in the hands of the Golden Gate Wooden Boat Trust, which was formed specifically to complete her restoration and return her to full sailing condition.
This is not a rescue project. It is a completion project—the final phases of a disciplined, multi-year restoration that will return a historic vessel to active service on the Bay.
| Phase 1 — Restart, Stabilization & Survey | $10,000–$25,000 |
| Phase 2 — Hull Completion & Exterior Joinery | $100,000–$200,000 |
| Phase 3 — Deck, Structure & Essential Systems | $50,000–$100,000 |
| Phase 4 — Rig, Sails & Recommissioning | $25,000–$75,000 |
| Campaign Total | $200,000–$300,000 |
The Trust operates with minimal overhead. Contributions fund the direct cost of returning Yankee to sailing condition.
Zero dollars go to salaries, administrative overhead, or marketing. This is a working project run by people who do the work.
